This model really deserves a Type number of its own since it is distinctly different from all other known Shenandoahs. The most significant difference is the laminated top, which is a marked departure from the previous Shenandoahs, all of which had solid spruce tops. There are also major changes in the shape of the peghead and peghead logo, along with a completely different style of label. A new and completely different system was used for the serial numbers, three of which are now collected in the database. The general format of those numbers is consistent, which allows a few tentative conclusions to be drawn. The spread between high and low numbers is roughly 350, with the guitar shown below falling squarely in the middle of that range. This in turn suggests a production run of roughly that size
