This is apparently the only Standard Production model which changed production specifications in mid-stream. When it was first introduced in late 1983, model D-3532 had a bound headstock which matched the white single-ply fingerboard binding. This feature continued until approximately mid-1985 after which all known D-3532’s had plain headstocks. Examples of each style are shown below

Outside of that one change in trim, as far as is known the D-3532 did not change significantly from 1983 to 1993. Sunburst finish was an available option, but comparatively rare. Some variation in this sunburst has been noted, with some examples being a 2-color yellow/brown very much like a tobacco sunburst, and others finished in a distinctly 3-color yellow/red/brown much like that found on Gibson acoustics of the period. There were also a very small number of left-handed models made, and like any lefty guitar, they are extremely rare
